Instructions:
Head
Using 4 mm needles, cast on 25sts in black double knit wool
Knit 2 rows
Work 12 rows in SS starting with a K row
(K2 tog) repeat to end
(P2 tog) repeat to end
B & T tightly

Ears (x2)
Cast on 3
Inc knit-wise into every st
Purl
(inc, K) repeat to end
Purl 1 row
Knit 3 rows
Purl 1 row
(K2 tog, K) repeat to end
Purl
(K2 tog) repeat to end
B & T tightly

Making Up:
Sew up the head. 
Let the ears fold naturally in half, sew the bottom edges together but pull up tight to create the classic ear shape before sewing to the head as illustrated. 
Make a bow from spotty ribbon and sew in place.
