Instructions:
Head
Using 4 mm needles, cast on 28 stitches in dark pink double knit wool
Knit 2 rows
Continue in SS and work 14 rows in light pink.
(K2 tog) repeat to end
(P2 tog) repeat to end
B & T tightly

Ears – make 2
Cast on 3 in dark pink
Inc in first stitch, K2
P1, inc, inc, P1
SS 6 rows
K2 tog or P2 tog at the start of next 4 rows
Inc in the first stitch of the next 4 rows
SS 6 rows
K1, K2tog, K2tog, K1
P2 tog, P2
Cast Off

Making Up:
Embroider the face – Claire made a better job of this than me!  I unravelled a strand of black wool and used one of the three strands. 
Sew up row ends of head. 
With the right sides out, fold ears in half and sew the row ends together. 
Attach the ears to the head as illustrated.
