GRASS: Using green wool - Cast on 28 sts. Row 1 - knit (1green,1 white) repeat to end Row 2 - purl, white throughout WALLS: Rows 3-14 - white, stocking stitch ROOF: Change to red wool. Cut a length 80cms long for row 2. Row 1 - knit Row 2 - knit, double wool Row 3 - k2tog, k10, k2tog, k2tog, k10, k2tog (24sts) Row 4 - knit Row 5 - k2tog, k8, k2tog, k2tog, k8, k2tog (20sts) Row 6 - knit Row 7 - k2tog, k6, k2tog, k2tog, k6, k2tog (16sts) Row 8 - knit Row 9 - k2tog, k4, k2tog,k2tog, k4, k2tog (12sts) Row10 -knit Row11 -k2tog, k2, k2tog,k2tog, k2, k2tog (8sts) Row12 -knit Row13 -k2tog 4 times (4sts) Row14 -knit Row15 -k2tog twice(2sts) B&T |
CHIMNEY: Cast on 7 sts in red Stocking stitch 9 rows. Cast off. Leave a small tail for sewing up the seam. |

SEWING UP: Sew up the wall then turn your work to the right side. Sew up the long side of the chimney. Do this neatly on the garter stitch side (this becomes the outside)- see photo above. Stitch in a puff of smoke (cotton wool or other) Sew up the roof neatly on the right side inserting the chimney at right angles or pointing upwards. Decorate with a door, window(s) etc.. |
