Rain Set ~ Designed by Marie-M

Instructions:
Use DK wool and 4mm needles throughout

The Rain Hat is knitted in one piece starting with the:

Brim

Cast on 48sts
Rows 1-3: Knit
Row 4: (K1, K2tog) rpt across row (32sts)
Row 5: (K6, K2tog) rpt across row (28sts)

Crown

Starting with a purl row, knit 8 rows stocking stitch
Knit one row
(K2tog) rpt across row (14sts)
Purl
(K2tog) rpt across row (7sts)
Purl
(K2tog) rpt across row (4sts)
Thread through sts and pull up tightly

Making up the Rain Hat 
– Sew up back seam

Rubber Boots (Make 2)
BEFORE casting on, wind off approx. 10 feet of wool for each boot, they are knitted with double wool throughout.
Cast on 7 sts
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Inc, knit to end (8sts)
Rows 3 – 5: Knit
Row 6: Cast off 4sts, knit to end (4sts)
Knit 12 rows in garter st for the leg
Cast off leaving a tail of 6-8″ for sewing up.

Making up:
Arrange the boots as you fancy, then stitch their tops to the inside of the brim.
