Skating Hat

 – another pattern from Marie-M in Switzerland

Instructions:
Hat
Using 4 mm needles, cast on 28 stitches in coloured double knit
Purl 2 rows
Continue in SS and work 4 rows in white, 4 rows in colour and a further 4 rows in white.
Change to colour (K2 tog) repeat to end
Purl
(K2 tog) repeat to end
B & T tightly.  

Skates (make 2)
Cast on 14 in colour, change to white.
K1 row
Next row: inc, knit to last stitch, inc.
Knit 3 rows
Cast of 4 at beginning of next two rows
Knit 5 rows
Cast off.

Making Up:
Sew up the row ends of the main hat, leave 6 ends of wool at the top of the hat, 3 in each colour. 
Tie a double knot in each length and cut the ends off.
Fold the boots in half and oversew all the edges.
Use coloured wool to work a bow, laces and to sew onto the main hat as illustrated.
