Instructions:
You will need number 9 (3.75 mm) or 8 (4.00 mm) knitting needles, a size 5 mm crocheting hook and double knitting wool.
Wool code – g = green, w – white.

Cast on 28 sts in green and k 2 rows.
Row 3 – k7g, k2w, k10g, k2w, k7g
Row 4 – p7g, p2w, p10g, p2w, k7g
Rows 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 – as row 3
Rows 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 – as row 4
Row 15 – k7g, k14w, k7g
Row 16 – p7g, p14g, p7
Rows 17 – k row in g
Rows 18 – p row in g
Row 19 – k 2 tog across row (14 sts) in white
Row 20 – p 2 tog across tow (7 sts) in white

The Football – make a pom pom in black and white.
Crochet a short chain, tie around the middle of the pom pom.

Making Up:
Thread needle on tail and pull through 7 stitches tightly sewing edges together. Sew any ends in. Sew football in the centre of the hat.
