Using 4mm needles and DK wool Cast on 28sts in grey and garter stitch 4 rows Change to purple wool and starting with a knit row st-st 10 rows Next row (k2tog) rep to end Next row (p2tog) rep to end B&T The cross (make 2) Cast on 3sts in grey and garter stitch until long enough to go over the top of the hat and cast off. Sew the 2 grey strips in a cross pattern over the purple of the main hat and then decorate with jewels. I have used a string of beads but you could also use stick on jewels or maybe even tie French knots in bright coloured wool as 'jewels' |
