Mickey Mouse Style Hat ~ Designed by Michaela Spearman

Instructions:
You will need: 3.75 mm needles, red and black double knit yarn, and 2 small white buttons or felt

Cast on 26 sts in red & purl 2 rows
Starting on a knit row stocking stitch 4 rows
Change to black yarn st st 8 rows
K2tog to end (13 sts)
P2tog to end ( 7 sts)
Cut yarn & draw through rem 7sts
Sew centre back seam & weave in ends to finish.
Michaela uses mattress stitch on the right side of her work to create a neat finish when sewing up the hats.

Ears:
Cast on 3 sts
Inc in each st to end (6sts)
Knit 1 row
Inc in each st to end (12sts)
Knit 4 rows
(K2tog K1)rpt to end(8sts)
Knit 1 row
(K2tog)rpt to end(4sts)
Cut yarn, draw through 4 sts

Making Up:
Using the picture as a guide, sew the cast on edge of the ears to the top of the hat & weave in ends to finish.
Using buttons or felt, place on the hat as in the picture.
Your hat is now ready to be sent to Fruit Towers or your nearest Age UK branch
