UFO / Flying Saucer Hat

Instructions:
Using 4 mm needles and double knit wool.
Cast on 27 and purl 3 rows in dark green.
Change to mid-green –
(K2, inc) repeat to end (36 st)
Purl
(K2, inc) repeat to end (48 st)
Purl
Knit
Back to dark green and K1 row with 2 strands
Knit 1 row with single strand
(P1 dark green, P3 light green) repeat to end
(K3 light green, K1 dark green) repeat to end
Beg P, SS 2 rows in dark green
Knit 1 row with 2 strands of dark green
Beg K, SS 2 rows in dark green
(K2, K2tog) repeat to end (36st)
Purl 1 row
(K2, K2tog) repeat to end (27st)
(P2, P2tog) repeat to end (21st)
Cockpit of Spaceship
Change to mid-green and purl 2 rows
Knit 1 row
P8 in mid-green, 5 in yellow, 8 in mid-green
K8 in mid-green, 5 in yellow, 8 in mid-green
Purl 1 row
(K2tog) repeat to last st, K1 (11st)
(P2tog) repeat to last st, P1 (6st)
Aerial
Change to black and double ended needles
(K2tog, K1) repeat to end (4st)
Work 6 rows in I-Cord
K2tog twice, pass 1st st over 2nd
B&T
Making Up:
Sorry, there are rather a lot of them, but sew row ends together with the aerial pushed through to the right side.
Turn the hat to the right side and use the last remaining end to create an authentic looking aerial!
