Instructions:
Front & Back
Using DK wool and 3.75mm needles Cast on 16 sts
Knit 2 rows
Starting with a knit row st st 14 rows
Decrease 1 st at start of next 2 rows place a marker on each decreased stitch (This makes it easier to locate where the sleeves fit)
Work 5 more rows in st st
Cast off on purl row

Sleeves – Method 1
Knitted onto picked up stitches
Join front and back at shoulder (just 2/3 stitches on each side should do)
With right side of work facing, pick up and knit 6 sts on front from marker to shoulder, then pick up 6 sts on back to next marker
On these 12 sts starting with a purl row st st 4 rows
Next row: Knit
Cast off
(Repeat on other side of jersey for second sleeve)

Sleeves – Method 2
Knitted separately and sew in at the end, make 2.
Cast on 12 sts
Knit 2 rows
Starting with a knit row st st 4 rows
Cast off

Making Up:
Join side seams and sleeve seams, sew in ends .
This jersey is knitted in my teams colours (Aston Villa) substitute with your teams colours as required.
For horizontal stripes alternate desired colours in 2 or 4 row stripes.
If a contrasting edge colour is required for sleeves or neck, just casting on or casting off in the desired colour will be sufficient to give the effect.
